Speaking 4 the Planet is an Arts-based competition offering students an opportunity to address sustainability issues creatively. This is the first time this event has been run in Victoria and this year's theme is I am Water!
Students have the opportunity to submit entries in one of the following categories:
An entirely online event, this competition is a great opportunity for students to express themselves and their feelings for the environment based on the theme of water.
The competition is open to schools in the EASL area (Knox, Manningham, Maroondah, Whitehorse and Yarra Ranges municipalities) and is for students aged 9-16 (Grade 3 to Year 10). Judging will be undertaken in two different age bandings. The closing date for submissions is Friday 25th September. Detailed information on the categories, judging and how to submit is in the Competition Guide. There is also detailed information on the program links to the Victorian Curriculum.
EASL is partnering on this initiative with Environment Education Victoria, and Speaking 4 the Planet. The program is supported by funding from the Port Philip Bay Fund (DELWP).
We have made efforts for this program to comply with the social media guide set by the Department of Education.
