National Threatened Species Day - Thursday 7th September
Threatened Species Day is held each year on 7 September to commemorate the death of the last remaining Tasmanian tiger (also known as the thylacine) at Hobart Zoo in 1936. It is a day to turn the spotlight on native plants, animals and ecosystems that are under threat and reflect on how they can be protected into the future.
Celebrate the day by running your own event or partner up with a local landcare or friends of group.
