ResourceSmart Schools Awards 2026

Annual ResourceSmart School Awards, 2026

Anticipation filled the air as students, educators and school communities gathered at the MCG on June 11th for the 2026 ResourceSmart School Awards. Over four hundred Victorian schools are active in the ResourceSmart Schools (RSS) program, funded by the Victorian State Government. Through RSS, schools reduce energy, water, and waste, and increase biodiversity. The theme this year was ‘Our Sustainable Community’. We can achieve so much when we work together, whether that’s with other students, other schools, other teachers, or the wider community beyond the school gate. By working as a community we can sustain, build on and grow our combine effort to build the future we need.

There were so many highlights, but seeing passionate students not only get to meet DirtGirl in person, but proudly show off their sustainability projects in the show case and network with like minded young people was a real joy!
